On September 7, 2006, the State Institution “Republican Monument of Kulyab Museums” was established by Decree of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan No. 412 and Resolution of the Board of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of December 19, 2006, on the eve of the celebration of the 2700th anniversary of Kulyab on the basis of the Mir Sayyid Ali Hamadoni Museum of Local Lore under the jurisdiction of three museums – the Museum of Literary Heritage and Written Works named after Mir Sayyida Ali Hamadoni, the poet’s House Museum, was founded by the national curator Saidali Valizoda and the local history museum dedicated to the 2700th anniversary of Kulob.
The Museum of the 2700th anniversary of Kulyab consists of departments of history and archeology, ethnography (ethnography), Kulyab from the period of independence, nature of the country, military glory, fine and applied arts and the Madhal Hall (Foe). The total collection of museum exhibits is 14,277 items, of which 4,561 are stored at exhibitions of up to 9,716 other exhibits.
The Museum of the Literary heritage and Written works of Mir Sayyid Ali Hamadani consists of the fur coats of the old men of Khatlon Mountain, the treasury of Hazrat Amirjan, the history of the construction of the mausoleum of Mir Sayyid Ali Hamadani, the world fame of Ali Hamadani. The total museum collection includes 1,302 exhibits, of which 508 are on display at 794 exhibitions.
Next to the museum is the mausoleum of the famous writer and philosopher Mir Sayyid Ali Hamadani, the stone of gratitude, the Sagan of an unknown person and the remains of Humdon, dating back to the Achaemenid period (7-6 centuries BC).
On the ground floor of the museum there is the library of Emir Kabir, which contains more than 5,000 books in the generic font and Cyrillic alphabet from the sections of literary studies, sociology, lexicography, mathematics, geography.
The House Museum of poet and national Hafiz S. Valizada consists of four sections. The total collection of museum exhibits is 2,208 items, of which 427 are on display for 1,781 exhibits.
In total, the institution’s collection currently has more than 18,000 exhibits. Every year, due to the acquisition, involvement of employees and donations from citizens, the fund of museum exhibits increases.
In accordance with the work schedule, 53 people in the institution work from the budget, and due to production needs and a shortage of work units, 2 work from a special account.
Every year, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan allocates certain funds for the maintenance and functioning of the State Institution of the Kulyab Republican Museum.
It is worth noting that the purchase of exhibits in the institution is carried out through the fund’s procurement commission, created from among qualified specialists by order of the Minister of Culture. Every month or quarterly, they collect a commission for purchases and evaluate exhibits presented by citizens. After the purchase or gift of an exhibit, a special certificate is issued, and the exhibits received by the fund are distributed among the museum departments depending on the content and ownership of the periods. From the first days of its foundation to the present day, the institution has a scientific council. The members of the Academic Council are appointed by the Mujtama Administration and approved by the order of the Minister of Culture. In accordance with the instructions of the institution’s official instructions, each researcher compiles at least one printed article with a volume of 16-19 computer pages during the year, and the written scientific work is reviewed by its content in the scientific council.
One of the activities of the institution is the organization and holding of museum exhibitions in the republic and abroad. Throughout their activities, the Mojtama museums have participated in major exhibitions in Moscow, Korea, and China and have earned diplomas, certificates, and distinguished places.
